Every Naija hustler dreams of the day they stop working for somebody else. In Naija Life that day can come early: open the Business app on your phone and you can own a provisions kiosk, a buka, a salon, a phone shop or a boutique — in your own city or any other. You choose where it stands, paint the name on the sign, buy the stock, set your prices and hire hands or other players to work the counter. Then you can walk into it: Go to the shop opens your business in 3D.

A kiosk is the easy first step: cheap to open, cheap to run. The shops cost more to set up and pay more rent, but they hold more staff and can make more in a day.

How to open your business

  1. Pick the kind in the Business app.
  2. Pick the city. Any open city works — you don’t have to live there. Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, Enugu, Ibadan… every state’s city has a market to trade in.
  3. Pick the spot. Each place has one to three stars for footfall: Balogun Market, The Palms, Wuse Market, Mile One Market and the like. More stars, more customers — but shops of the same kind in one place share them.
  4. Name it and choose the sign colour, then pay the setup.
  5. Buy stock, then open up.

You can own up to two businesses, one in each city.

How to make more money from your shop

Set the right price

Your markup runs from 10% to 60%. Cheap brings more customers but less on each sale; dear makes more on each sale but fewer people buy. Around 40% is where most shops do best.

Don’t stand alone at the counter

On your own you sell about 60% of what a full crew does. Hire help:

WhoPaySells more by
🧑🏾‍🔧 Shop hand₦900 an hour while open+20%
🧑🏾‍💼 Experienced hand₦1,800 an hour while open+35%
🧑🏾 A real playerYour offer per shift+35%

Hire other players

Post a job and real players can work in your shop: full-time (a 6-hour shift, ₦2,000–₦9,000) or part-time (3 hours, ₦1,000–₦4,500), up to three players and two shifts a day. Any shift a player finishes is always paid in full, even if you let them go. Looking for work yourself? Shop jobs from other players show up on the Work screen beside the normal careers.

Does a business earn while you are offline?

No — and that is on purpose. A shop is open only while you are playing: open up, and when you leave the game it shuts by itself. A shut shop sells nothing and pays no wages; only the rent runs. Each business has a daily ceiling, and all your businesses together can make at most ₦50,000 profit in a day, so nobody gets rich overnight. It is a steady hustle on top of your job, your property and your side gigs, not a money printer.
