Every day, Naija Life runs two contests that pit you against every other player who enters. There is no luck in either: each one rewards a skill the city has been teaching you all along. Open the Events app on your in-game phone to see what is on, enter, and check how you placed.
The two games
🧺 Haggle Cup
Five customers. Your job is to get each one as close as possible to the most they would pay — but go over and the deal is gone. It is the market-stall haggling from the game, with one difference: in the Cup your hustle skill does not widen the margin, so everyone plays the same customers on equal terms. Your score is the share of each customer's limit you captured, added up across all five.
🏷️ Price Check
Eight things from the shops, four prices each, and one of them is right. You have 15 seconds per question. Your score is how many you got right, and because ties are common, the faster total time breaks them. Players who know their grocery prices and the furniture catalogue have the edge.
Rooms and entry fees
| Room | Entry fee |
|---|---|
| Small room | ₦500 |
| Mid room | ₦2,000 |
| Big room | ₦10,000 |
Fees are in in-game naira. You can enter each room of each game once per contest day, so a busy player can play up to six times. Every fee shows in your Bank's account history.
When and how winners are paid
- Each contest day closes at 9pm Lagos time, and the next one opens straight away, so there is always one running.
- The pot is every entry fee added together. The top score takes it, less a 10% house cut.
- A Haggle Cup tie is a genuine draw and splits the pot; a Price Check tie goes to whoever answered faster.
- If fewer than two players entered a room, or nobody scored, every fee is refunded.
- Everyone who took part gets a notice with their place — You came 3rd of 15 — and past results stay in the Events app.
Tips for winning
- Start small. The ₦500 room is the cheapest way to learn how far a customer will go.
- Haggle in the market first. The stall in the game uses the same customers' logic; practise there for free.
- Know your prices. Price Check pulls from the shops, so the furniture and grocery data pages are a cheat sheet.
- Dare a friend. Share your score with a link and challenge them to beat it — see playing with friends.
The contests are games of skill played for in-game naira. No entry fee or prize can be exchanged for real money.
Questions people ask
What are the Naija Life contests?
Two daily skill games against other players: the Haggle Cup, where you sell to five customers as close to their limit as you dare, and Price Check, where you pick the right price for eight items against the clock.
How much does it cost to enter?
Each game has three rooms: ₦500, ₦2,000 and ₦10,000 of in-game naira. You can enter each room once a day.
When are the winners paid?
Contests close at 9pm Lagos time. The best score takes the pot, less a 10% cut. If fewer than two players entered, everyone gets their fee back.
Is it luck?
No. There are no draws or dice: the Haggle Cup rewards reading a buyer, and Price Check rewards knowing what things cost. A Price Check tie goes to the faster player; a Haggle Cup tie splits the pot.
Can I win real money?
No. Entry fees and prizes are in-game naira, and nothing in Naija Life pays out real money.
