Naija Life now has a President of Nigeria. Every four weeks the whole country votes: players in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt all get one ballot, and every player lives under the winner's policy until the next President is declared.
How the presidential race works
- Three weeks of campaign. The candidates are on the board in the Gov app, but the polls are shut.
- One week of voting. Polls open on Monday and close on Sunday at 8pm. Then the count runs into the night.
- One vote each, cast in the Gov app on your in-game phone. It cannot be changed.
- Four weeks of policy. The winner's policy is in force for everybody until the next President is declared.
The first presidential vote is the week of 16 November 2026, with polls closing on Sunday 22 November at 8pm.
The candidates
| Candidate | Party | Slogan | Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aisha Danjuma | National Unity Party | One Nigeria, steady light. | Steady light |
| Chukwuemeka Eze | Federal Progress Party | A wage you can live on. | Minimum wage raise |
| Babatunde Adeyemi | Renewal Alliance | Cheaper food on every table. | Food subsidy |
| Yakubu Garba | Movement for Mobility | Move Nigeria at half the fare. | Transport subsidy |
| Ebiere Tonye | Youth Congress | Make Naija enjoy. | Owambe season |
What each policy does
| Policy | Effect |
|---|---|
| Steady light | NEPA cuts are shorter and rarer |
| Minimum wage raise | Every shift pays 15% more |
| Food subsidy | Groceries and food are 30% cheaper |
| Transport subsidy | Fares are half price |
| Owambe season | Fun at places around town is 30% stronger |
Think about how you play before you vote. If you work long shifts, the wage raise is worth the most. If you ride across town every day, the transport subsidy. If NEPA keeps cutting your light, see the NEPA guide and vote for steady light.
Your governor, by home city
The President is for everyone. Below the President, what you vote for depends on your home city:
| Home city | Your local race | How often |
|---|---|---|
| Lagos | Governor of Lagos, voted in the Gov app or at Polling Unit 001 | Every week |
| Port Harcourt | Governor of Rivers, voted in the Gov app | Every week |
| Abuja | None: the FCT has no governor, so the President's policy is the one you live under | — |
Only players whose home is in Lagos vote for the Governor of Lagos, and only they live under that policy. The same goes for Rivers and PH. The governor's race guide covers the Lagos polling unit and accreditation.
Two policies at once
If your governor and the President won on different policies, you get both. If they won on the same one, you get it once: two transport subsidies do not make fares free.
The Rivers race
| Candidate | Party | Slogan | Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tamuno Briggs | Rivers Progressive Union | Garden City, bright again. | Steady light |
| Ibiere Amachree | Waterfront Alliance | Every waterfront gets a road. | Transport subsidy |
| Chinonso Ihunwo | Workers' Front | Fair pay from Trans-Amadi to Rumuokoro. | Minimum wage raise |
| Barine Kpea | Delta Reform Party | Bole, fish and fair prices. | Food subsidy |
| Soye Dappa | Carnival Coalition | Carniriv every weekend. | Owambe season |
Want a vote in PH? Move there. The city guide explains how to change your home city.
