Naija Life is three cities — Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt — and since October 2026 each one is a team. Your home city is where you live, and every week the cities are ranked against each other. On top of that, the city runs its own weekly calendar of awards, goals and a squad league, all on real time and paid automatically. This guide explains how it all works.
Choosing your home city
When you create your character, the start screen asks for your home city. Pick Lagos, Abuja or Port Harcourt and you begin in the cheapest home in that city. Each city has its own places, its own characters to befriend, its own wishes and its own jobs — Abuja has careers such as legislative aide and Wuse Market trader, PH has oil services and the bole chef. See every job on the careers data page.
You are never locked in. To move, travel to another city by flight or the night bus (the travel guide has the fares) and move into a home there from the Houses app. Your home city goes where your home goes.
How the City vs City standings work
A city's score is the average net worth of its players who have played in the last seven days. It is an average, not a total, so a small city with rich players can beat a big one — when the standings launched, Abuja and Port Harcourt both led Lagos. The standings are in the Rich List app on your phone, next to the ranking of every player.
The weekly calendar
The city week follows the real week in Lagos time:
- All week: the governor's race is open. The polls close Sunday at 8pm, and the winner's policy changes fares, pay or prices for the whole city — see voting in Naija Life.
- All week: the city goal. A target for what every player earns together. If it is reached, everyone who earned at least ₦1,000 that week collects ₦5,000. The target adjusts to how the previous week went.
- Monday: the City Awards for the week just gone, each worth ₦25,000.
- Monday: the squad league is settled.
The City Awards
| Award | Who wins | Prize |
|---|---|---|
| 💼 Top Earner | The player who earned the most that week | ₦25,000 |
| 💸 Odogwu | The player who sprayed the most | ₦25,000 |
| 🌟 Celebrity | The player who got sprayed the most | ₦25,000 |
The squad league
Squads are small crews of players who take on a weekly challenge together. Every Monday each squad's finish is ranked, and the contributors in the top three squads are paid ₦15,000, ₦10,000 and ₦5,000. A squad is also who you ride with in a convoy — see playing with friends.
