A city for every state in Naija Life: how to unlock yours

37 cities, one for every state, opened by the players from each state

Naija Life is not just Lagos any more. Every one of Nigeria's 36 states and the FCT now has a city in the game — 37 cities, each built with its own places, local food and jobs, homes, a famous landmark, a signature craft and a festival. Kano has the Kofar Mata dye pits and the Durbar; Enugu has its coal city heritage; Ibadan has Cocoa House and Bower's Tower; Calabar has its carnival; Benin City casts bronze.

Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt are open to everybody right now. Every other city is built and waiting, and it opens for everybody the moment the players from its state have brought enough friends into the game.

How do you unlock your state's city?

  1. Pick your home state. When you start a new life you choose where you are from. That is your home state, shown on your profile.
  2. Invite your friends. Share your invite link from the Invite app on your phone. Every friend who joins and really plays counts towards your home state: an invite counts once they have played for a few days and done a few dozen things, on their own phone.
  3. Reach the goal together. The count is shared by everybody from your state. The biggest states need 300 invites (8 states), the middle ones 150 (16) and the smallest 75 (10). The progress for every state is in the game.
  4. The city opens for everybody. From then on any player can fly or ride there, live there, work there and build there.

So the fastest way to play in Kano, Enugu or Benin City is to get your people playing. Invites also pay you in the game — see playing with friends.

What is in each city?

Every state's city has the same shared kit — a market, a buka, places of worship, a motor park or an airport, homes from a single room to a mansion, and a property centre with its own new layout of plots — plus what makes it home: local jobs (an indigo dyer in Kano, a shoemaker in Aba, a bronze caster in Benin City), its landmark at the centre of the map, its signature activity and its festival. Every state has its own page in the state guide, with the places, jobs and homes.

Questions people ask

Is my state in Naija Life?

Yes. All 36 states and the FCT have a city: 37 cities in all.

Which cities can I play in now?

Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt are open to everybody. Every other state’s city opens when its players invite enough friends.

How do I unlock Kano (or my state) in Naija Life?

Pick it as your home state and invite friends. Kano needs 300 invites; smaller states need 150 or 75. Every invite from a player of that state counts.

Does an invite count straight away?

An invite counts once your friend has really played: a few days and a few dozen actions, on their own phone.

Can I move to another city?

Yes. Moving takes your home with you, free, so you can move to your state’s city the day it opens.

Pick your home state, invite your people and open your city — free in your browser, on Android and on iPhone.
